Frequently Asked Questions
What are glad hand seals?
Glad hand seals (also called gladhand gaskets or grommets) are rubber or polyurethane seals that create an airtight connection between the air brake hoses of a tractor and trailer. They prevent air leaks in the brake system.
What is the difference between red and blue glad hand seals?
Red seals are for the emergency (supply) line. Blue seals are for the service (control) line. Using the correct color helps prevent cross-connection errors.
How often should glad hand seals be replaced?
Inspect seals regularly during pre-trip inspections. Replace when cracked, worn, or when air leaks are detected. Many fleets replace seals every 3-6 months as preventive maintenance.
What is the difference between rubber and polyurethane seals?
Polyurethane seals last longer and resist weather, oil, and UV exposure better than standard rubber. They cost slightly more but provide better value over time.
Do you offer bulk pricing?
