FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between red and blue glad hands?
Red glad hands are for the emergency/supply line – they provide constant air pressure to charge the trailer air tanks. Blue glad hands are for the service/control line – they activate the trailer brakes when you press the brake pedal.
How often should I replace glad hand seals?
Inspect seals during every pre-trip inspection. Replace immediately if you notice cracking, hardening, or air leaks. Most fleets replace seals every 6-12 months as preventive maintenance. Bad seals can cause DOT violations and brake failures.
What is the difference between rubber and polyurethane seals?
Rubber seals are economical and work well in normal conditions. Polyurethane seals last longer and perform better in extreme temperatures, resist oils and chemicals, and provide a tighter seal. For demanding applications, we recommend polyurethane.
Are your seals compatible with my truck?
Yes! Our seals are universal and compatible with all major brands including Haldex, Phillips, Tramec, Tectran, Velvac, and Sloan. They fit standard SAE J318 glad hand connections used on all commercial trucks and trailers.
Do you offer bulk pricing?
